About Us and Our Dream...

Ahoy, mates! We are Jonathan and Deb. We have been together for 30 years, have three grown and accomplished children, and a granddaughter whom we adore. We have family and friends on both coasts and many points in between. For many years, we dreamed of cruising and living aboard a sailboat. We are on our way to making that dream a reality. We spent the summer of 2015 in Essex, taking numerous "shakedown cruises", preparing for our departure on 9/14/2015. We headed south through NYC (the East River), through New York Harbor and Raritan Bay, past Sandy Hook down the Jersey coast, through the Cape May Canal, Deleware Bay, the C & D Canal, Chesepeake Bay, and into the Elizabeth River and down the Intracoastal Waterway (ICW). We ended in Stuart, Florida, on December 9th 2015, where we stayed for three additional months. We found Florida to be not only very wet and dirty, but it is also incredibly shallow. Skua, while drafting only 4 ft 4 inches, really likes the freedom of deep water cruising. We brought her back up to CT in March of 2016 and have spent the last two summers cruising around Long Island and relatively close points east.
